Terms and Conditions
By proceeding with booking an appointment you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, please do not proceed with an appointment. Nothing in these terms shall in any way be deemed to restrict or affect your statutory rights.

Saddles Trial Period
Trial saddles / girths or pads may be available for a 7 day trial subject to conditions. A full refund will be given including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us) but not re-delivery to us.  The saddle / girth must be returned clean and in unused condition (taking into account a reasonable amount of use to trial the item). The customer shall take all reasonable care to keep the item in good condition during the 'Trial Period'. We can help with advice in regards to saddle fit, but the decision to purchase is yours it is important for you to use your trial period to make your decision and it is your responsibility to do so.

2. Minimum Charge
The cost of the appointment will depend on the area you are in and will need to be paid at the time of the fitting to the Saddle Fitter, or by bank transfer within 7 days of the appointment. Appointment charges vary dependent on distance from base (see Fee schedule below).  A minimum charge is applicable to all appointments and is non-refundable, the minimum charge is applicable if we come out to fit a saddle which is found to be unsuitable for your horse, or you decide not to buy any of the saddles that are available, or your horse is lame or unable to be ridden etc.  Minimum charges are non-refundable and are used to cover time and travel costs.

3. Deposit and Cancellation
All bookings will only be confirmed upon payment of the minimum charge as a deposit (see Fee schedule below).  Cancellation outside of 7 days of the appointment will receive a full refund.  The deposit is non-refundable for an appointment cancelled within 7 days of appointment date except upon provision of a vet or doctors certificate.

4. Appointment Availability
Please note that appointments are strictly limited.  We are delighted that you chose to use our services, however please ensure that you contact us with plenty of notice and be patient whilst we find you an appointment.  To keep our costs low we group clients by area.  If you have an urgent request that requires immediate attention we may be able to find you an appointment sooner, however an additional travel charge may apply (this will be discussed at time of booking).  Alternatively, appointments where you bring your horse to my property (a 20m x 40m sand arena is available for riding during the fitting) are often available at very short notice.

5. Aftercare and servicing
Your saddle will need to be checked regularly for fit and balance as explained at the time of purchase or fitting. It is your responsibility to contact us to arrange this. We recommend that a new saddle is checked after approximately 12 weeks, as the wool will settle to the horse‚Äôs shape. All wool-flocked saddles should be completely re-flocked after 2 to 3 years of use. 

All saddles should be checked once a year and when your horse changes shape. It is important to remember that horses can change shape dependent on age, time of year, changes in work, diet and even a change of home or rider can make a difference and yearly (or even 6 monthly checks) may not be enough. It is your responsibility to arrange and monitor the fit and balance of your saddle and to contact us when a saddle needs adjusting.  All callout saddle checks, re-flocking and adjustments are chargeable.

Fee schedule

This relates to a saddle that I have already fitted to the horse.  A check of the saddle within 12 months incurs this fee.  Saddle checks outside of a year after fitting incur the full standard fit fee.
Any client purchasing a saddle as a result of a saddle fit session with me (either one of the second hand saddles that I carry, or a new saddle purchased through Lanskeys in Cairns or Townsville) is entitled to one free saddle check booked within 3 months of purchasing the saddle.  These checks will be subject only to a call out fee of $20 in Tablelands and Cairns, and $30 in Townsville to cover my travel costs.
